Default Petrol smell

Hi guys,
My mate keeps getting a petrol smell coming through the air vents whilst driving/engine running. When he turns the car off and checks and smells under the bonnet there's no smell
The car is an unmodded 52 plate wrx.

Any idea's or pointers lads?

Gus

I had this problem when I upgraded to a set of second hand pink injectors on my wrx, got an awful smell of petrol in the cabin but the guy who came to look at my car couldn't smell anything under the bonnet. I also got a little bit of steam when stationary in traffic. Turned out to be a faulty/worn O ring seal on one of the injectors, easily fixable if thats what it is

if the smell goes away when warm its the fuel rails which expand under cold weather you need to modify them inlet manifold off big job iff you cant do it yourself prob 300 plus at a garage
