I have a classic impreza and I am getting a new detcat exahust fitted. I was thinking about changing the pannle filter to a performance one, but my mate says the oil on the new filter kept clogging his air fuel meter. Is this regular occorence?

There have been a few posts on this try a search. My opinion is the are OK and when its time to clean don't over oil it.
There is a in depth report from K&N regarding this and they could not find one problem with Faulty maf's

I think the A'PEXi panel is a non-oiled jobbie (the best for filtration and power too).

Yeah, unfortunately the Apexi is a rare thing. I'm sure the Cossie one won't be to shabby, performance-wise...
