Default brakes

Hi guys.. some opinions required.

I have the opportunity to buy some very nicely refurbished and sprayed four pots that are fitted to sti version 4/5/6 along with new nippon pads and discs.

I think the rrp on the pads new is £30 and discs £70

£250 is what they want for the lot.. good deal? or are the pads and discs just poo?

sorry to hurt your sale fella but there in no way a road car pad, there a full on endurance race pad. Last person i know who used them ended up in the back of someone, they just don;t work from cold on a road car and a road car can never build the heat into them. so i would strongly advise against them.

Not really that arsed ..... never said there were a road pad?

Getting heat into them or cold bite is not an issue either??????

As regards the person you know who ended up in the back of someone?.... running out of talent or not possesing ANY is best keep quiet

Ahh well ...... even if there not for a road car they are still made by EBC....no scare mongery needed with there rep....which is why they wont sell on here.

You may get a sale on an auction site...

The problem is that EBC sold us Greenstuff ...... and then decided they were not suitable for the impreza.

Then Redstuff which only lasted 3 months along with there discs......which warped.

I complained and it fell on death ears.......i had abused them in a 215hp classic road car....apparently......which the missus drove....lol

Its a shame as they are a local company and i would like to give them my support....and this was years ago.

I,m sure things must have moved on for them and a guy on our forum says there Yellowstuff pads are brilliant.........but once bitten and all that...

To be fair.. the pads do work well for many people - esp on track.
But they just have a bad rep on here - re rooferman ect

when was he asking for a track application? yes your advert states there track pads, but there has never been a mention of track stuff till you yapped up with something that's unsuitable, which is what i said, then you come back and have a go :S.

then also other folks come on and say there not brilliant, especialy on the road, which only backs up what i said. think you need to wind your neck in.

Chill guys. It was fair for Tidgy to point out to the unsuspecting or unknowing that these are not every day road pads. I am sure you would not want someone to buy these for every day use and find they were unsuitable for that purpose as EBC make clear on their site. They are also very hard on discs.
