Default help regards to cooling

hey all, just changed a rad on a 2002 sti, now got it filled back up and ran it with heaters on, now when you rev it a bit the heaters blow hot but on idle they go cold again.
also the fans kick in but dont seem to be knocking off again.
any ideas? really stuck now.
cheers, shawn

Big air lock in the radiator and they can be a pig to get rid of.
Get all the water out of the filler tank, remove the rad cap and squeeze the bottom rad hose so air comes out.
You may need to do this several times.

No circulation, sensor gets hot and fans stay on, water boils, head gaskets fail, engine dies, car catches fire and burns the house down....

Just squeeze the top and bottom rad hoses, preferably without severing any limbs, on the whirring fans.

P.S. You aren't blaming the DV are you ?

Lol very assuring indeed DUnx hehe....

As already said by the guys above its an air lock.....in order to avoid an air lock in the rad i tend to fill the radiator seperatley via the upper hose...This might help.

No, we have an idea where it may be....

Shaun bought one from S'net, IIRC.
