Default WRX STI help

Hey guys i have purchased a WRX STI V2 with the bid ends gone on the 3rd cyclender ( suprise ) lol. I am in a predicement as i have bought what i have been led to beleive a closed deck block. ( non STI ).

If i took the heads of the knackard engine and put them on this new engine and all bits including turbo would that make it a version 2 sti?

How can i tell if the engone is a closed deck block?

If i out this new engine into the car would the ECU for an STI run a lesser power engine or not?

Regards Trell

theres a thread on closed deck markings here.

I'm not sure of the early wrx/sti engine internal differences. But the ecu will give the same power as before. Im running 270-280bhp on a 93 wrx engine with no problems as yet. Im sure some one here can shed some light onto engine and head swaps etc
