Default New MAF - Do I need to remap?

My 01 UK300 has been decatted and engine re mapped, and recently I had to buy a new MAF. Since having the new one fitted by Subaru, the car seems to be running slightly rich and you can really smell the exhaust fumes.
Should I have to have the engine remapped after replacing the MAF?

If the MAF sensor output is different from when it was mapped then yes, it'll make a difference. Best bet is to contact the guy who mapped it and ask him. (as far as I know there aren't any Ladies doing it - although there is one we're not at all sure about..)

MAF wasn't duff when I had the remap. Had the remap 5 years ago and MAF has just been changed for hopefully the same kind.
Tried to contact WRC technologies who done the map, but they no longer exist. Any ideas who else round the beds and bucks area does ECUTEK mapping?

In which case there should be no need to remap it as a result of fitting a new one.

I guess Duncan - Dynamix in Cambridgeshire might not be too far from you. I assume he does EcuTek not certain. It should not need a map IF the MAF is like for like - but it might be a good plan to get him to check it over and the map

Duncan doesn't do EcuTek no.

Agree there should be no need for a remap.

I don't do ecutek but I will be able to remap if needed

I'm with Simon though, don't think it will need remapping. Tis worth checking it though.

What happens to the ecutek licence when you write to it with open source Duncan?

It remains on the ECU.(and it's not technically an OS map.)

It's in an area of the rom code that the OS map doesn't touch, so it remains there in case they wish to get an ecutek remap at another time.
