Default FOLDING MIRRORS ONTO MY96 UK TURBO

Hi guys/gals was just wondering if the loom is in for the folding electric mirrors on my uk turbo which already has electric mirrors?? Are they plug and play??

i dont quite understand the question

you have a uk turbo which had electric mirros, now were these folding mirrors or electrically glass moveable to see where your going ?

right ok i'll start again

I have a 96 uk turbo with electric mirrors. Can i put the electric mirrors which fold in on?? i.e off of type r's and import wrx's etc.... is the loom the same? do i just need the switch??

You need:
New mirrors, (obviously),
New switch, as you said,
Some connectors from BOTH ends of the wiring: mirrors and switch, in order to get the pins/females out of them and insert them in your existing loom.
To be able to solder, in order to do it properly.
Some lengths of cable, thinwall, your local car electric place or
VWP - thinwall cable,
Ref11 is the stuff, you need ffed and return, both sides, about ten metres will do it.
Once you have done that, it's just two wires from the switch correct terminals to BOTH mirrors, ie: split the two into four, and take a pair to each mirror

I did a thread on this as Tanyatriangles, but unfortunately I've deleted the pics off Photobucket.

Not really, it took me half a day. Hardest part was getting the two wires each side through the door grommet, which I did with a thicker piece of wire like an old coathanger.

Showed 'em my Mrs once finished, she just rolled her eyes. I think "underwhelmed" is the word

Nice one cheers just have to get crimbo out of way then may look for some! got to get some bodywork done first though
