Default after market ECU what difference will it make

i have a 04 reg sti running 373bhp i am going to fit a fmic and was thinking of an after market ecu. sorry for the basic question but which one is best to go for and what difference am i likely to see.

Solaris gets good reviews, you also have the hydra, Motec and then dropping down in price a little, simtek.

ta for that,does anyone no what to expect in turms of performance when fitted. its just that i dont want to fit my fmic and remap my ecu then decide to buy another one. but they are not cheap hence i suppose i need the idea selling to me in order to justify the price

The OEM ECU will do everything you need for the road. Why do you want to go aftermarket?
