Default ecu swap ?????????

i have a 2002 wrx bugeye with a mapped ecu and managed to blow the engine up.so i have just fitted a new engine. it runs without the airflow meter pluged in but as soon as its pluged in it dies and will not run at all. i have another ecu to put the car back to standard but i dont know if it will work?
does it need the alarm box and chiped key or will it plug straight in. the engine and ecu is out of another 2002 bugeye wrx but i dont want to mess anything up
any help will be great

First thing that points to is your Mass Air Flow sensor is knackered this is why your first engine probably went bang.

^^^
What they said.
You've already found that your MAF is dead so just replace it.
If you have the same mods/engine you don't need to swap ECU's. It won't be plug-n-play anyway because you need your key coded for the new ECU.

i have three airflow meters an 2 of them are genuine denso units and are all tested and working.this is why i want to put the car back to standard. i think the ecu has been mapped to run with out an airflow meter. i have the key for the other ecu so i was thinking that i could just swap the chip but does this car have a coded alarm box that could get me into trouble.

originally the car was a rocket and was also running a tdo5 turbo at 1.2 bar of boost

i have now fitted a engine from a 2002 wrx wagon and the tdo4.
i also have the ecu and key for it

what are your thoughts now

sorry i was a bit bland in the first description

To swap ECU's you'll need:
replace ECU
replace immo box
swap immo chip between keys

Or just replace ECU and code the immo box for the old key, IIRC Ecutek can do this even without license.
