Default diag plug?

How many diag plugs would my turbo 2000 have and where?i found a black one under the steering column and a grey one on the transmission tunnel.

The only one that really matters is the first one you mention, which does the engine (and OE fit immobiliser). The others are just ABS, airbag and so-forth, nothing you care about as long as they're working.

Impossible to answer that without knowing what other cars you're talking about!

The simple answer is that up until fairly recently, Subaru didn't fully integrate the data systems on the car.

TBH it doesn't matter as, as said above, you don't really care about the other boxes on the car (DCCD controller apart, which you don't have), and the diagnostic protocol Subaru introduced on the 99-00 is very fast and comprehensive.
