Default Misfire, plugs?coil pack confusuion

Hi all,

Sorry for the dual post. But this where the tech people live after all

The scoob (2000UK classic) has developed misfire under load. I'm happy with checking and change the plugs but after searching I'm confused about coil packs. Does my Scoob have them?

Plug leads go to ignition coil on manifold?

What else could be the cause, leads have been replaced the Magnor ones earlier this year.

Many thanks in advance.

If your scoob has coilpacks they'll be the part with the rubber boot that fit over the ends of your spark plugs in the block. Sorry, not all that familiar with the classics so don't know if you have them or not.
They look like this:

I'd suggest you check the coilpacks aren't degraded or cracked in any way and that the looms are plugged into each one securely.
Failing that, check and replace / regap your plugs.
Failing that, check the MAF.

Last of the classics, no coil packs, just block on manifold. Things to do:

Recheck leads
Replace plugs
How do you check MAF, will the wire be split, or covered in crap??
Replace leads & coil pack

Oh what fun ahead
