Default Strut top mounts

How can one tell if the strut top mounts are worn?
Reason why i ask is that there is cracks/crazing in the rubber, and car is hard to keep in a straight line.

Ye all are fine, fitted new rod ends etc a while ago.

The steering has always been a bit vague in the middle, but thats how early classics are so im told. But now its border line dangerous, as i can feel it pulling through the steering and at times putting alot of action through the wheel to keep it straight.

Im at my wits end

mine is the same, has been for a while - but before it was on rails following an alignment. I replaced track rod ends and it helped a little but not enough. However I am fairly confident that changing the rack ends (the other end from the track rod ends) will sort it after two other people with the same problem did that and cured it. Once I do mine I will try to remember to report back on here...

no, mine 'seem' fine in that if I try to move them about they seem solid, but apparently these others were the same but once changed it was sorted. you can get them for £25 each on ebay and not that hard to change so might be worth a go.

see this link for more info
