Default Re-map/ECU advise please

Hi all I'm looking at getting my 95 wrx re-mapped, looking for around 320bhp+ , or what ever it can make on the standard td05 16g turbo , what is the best ecu for the money , as i understand there is either a apexi ecu or a ESL board , at the moment i can't seem to find a apexi under £500 so the ESL looks a better option , just wondered which 1 would be best for my set up ,
also i see some people on here run a methanol/petrol mix , would it be worth it on my spec to get it mapped for say a 10%methanol mix , or is this only worth it on high powered cars with lots of mods ,
any help much appreciated

APEX'i PFC shot up in price due to economic climate/exchange rate, etc. If you were considering one, then it's a no-brainer to go for the MAFless/dual-maps Simtek instead of it! Only £800 RRP (+VAT) fitted/mapped for your MY.

However, the ESL Live is a decent solution at a fair bit cheaper (I think £550 +VAT fitted/mapped by JGM.) But if considering the ESL, contact Dynamix... I think he stocks - or can get hold of - a MAFless!!! version of the ESL!

No reason not to get mapped on a meth/V-Power mix. Depending on how much % of meth you get mapped on, then expect at least 10bhp/10lb ft more than V-Power alone.

The TD05H 16g is good for south of 350bhp on V-Power alone (assuming all appropriate supp. mods). With the meth, expect 350+...

Of course, if you opt for Simtek, you could have two full maps: a reduced power/'economy' map on 95 or 97 RON only... PLUS a full-on meth/V-power map.

+ FMIC,new injectors, uprated clutch, better gearbox, better brakes (unless you already have some) for anything over 300bhp which in a classic is going to be to be pretty damn quick.

and, imo, before tuning it take it to a rolling road pay £50ish and get a health check done on it before spending loads of money.

I'm not too bothered about only having one map for all the time , as i have another cheap runaround car , so i think the ESL live ecu would be best for me, + its quite alot cheaper than the rest , so far my list of mods are: hybrid FMIC, K&N57I induction , parrelel fuel rails, 550cc injectors (not fitted yet), Fuel pressure regulator, walbro fuel pump, 3" decat and nurspec full sytem , new coil packs and pf7b plugs, i know i would need to get a later type map sensor , have 4 pot calipers and done all new pads/disks all round , also have planned to get a stronger gear box when this one lets go , can anyone think of anything else i will need , cheers

Nope.

You've got the perfect mods (nothing is "over spec" ) to get the max from the TD05, after your remap.

Being picky, perhaps you could add in a ported and DEI wrapped OEM up-pipe (available form harvey for £40) - this should lower spool-up times by at least 200rpm. Then again, this mod isn't all that economically viable, seeing as you otherwise wouldn't have to remove either turbo or headers! (Unless you fit yourself, of course .)

If it helps you out, then JGM Simon is able to travel to you for your map (It's what he does)...
