What car have i got???
Ive just bought a black Import 1994 Subaru STI saloon and it has a plate under the bonnet that says its a limited edition Number 47 out of 100. As its an import the log book only says subaru. Anyone know what model it is????

The first STi's were indeed WRX's taken off the production line and altered........the applied model code will therefore show it as a WRX AFAIK.
There should be an STi sticker under the saying it was made by STi

The STi was launched early 1994 and they took a WRX from the production line and blueprinted the engine, added bits and modified the ECU to make circa 250 BHP
It should have a build number and date on the off side suspension turret, a sticker on the fanbelt cover saying "handcrafted by STi" (I think those are the words), silver slanty intercooler, silver front strut brace with pink ends, an STi rear spoiler , a pink badge..........and be in red black or silver

1st ever STi:-
Think those alloys were a factory option though. But it did have the exclusive-to-the-first-STi high 'hooped' rear wing (NO other STi MY had that style of wing as std.)
Outwardly, aside form the wing; pink 'i' grille badge; pink 'STi' sticker on bumper; (and alloys if fitted), it looks the same as the contemporary WRX.
