Default Oil Pressure guage help

Started fitting a set of gauges i wired up the lighting circut first then the ignition wire part and tested them i noticed the oil pressure gauge shot upto max, I have'nt connected the sender yet, is the gauge faulty or is this normal

thats normal untill the sender is all wired up

sounds like its being powered by the electrical system and not the sender itself as u have said. this doesnt happen to mine

Hey if the sender is connected and it still goes straight up to max its a dodgy earth on the sender unit.

Place a bit of wire on the body of the sender unit and connect it to the battery and then try.

I had the same problem when i moved mine on to an extender pipe.

Yeash without the sender connected it will shot straight to max
