ecu help is this a standard ecu or chipped
hi hope pictures work i got given a ecu from some guy who said it was chipped im a no brainer when it comes to the technical side of my car i own a 95 wrx saloon import been told this ecu is from an auto wagon i think .need to know if its got any use to me before i put it up for sale thank you [IMG][/IMG]

is it any good to me ? or just sell it on ?it was thrown in with some wheels i brought .if its from a auto then take it that its not good to me as mines manuel or am i going of track im so confused but want to know and learn aswell

The chip will overide any factory programming if the j1 resistor is cut. Trouble is you dont know what chip it is in it and what sort of power outputs have been programmed into it. A bit risky to put it in the car without knowing. You might blow something or detonate the engine if the map on it is too aggresive. Unless you can find 100 per cent what chip it is id stay clear otherwise you could always ebay it as a chipped one but then some poor sod that you sell it to will be in the same boat which aint good.

It is chipped but is probably no good for your car. If it came from an auto wagon, wagons run a td04 turbo not the td05 the saloons have. The map on the chip will not suit your car. Plus if you don't know the chip it could be anything on there. I wouldn't trust an ebay chip. PP chips have a good name and Scott will be able to provide info for you.
