Default lambda wires narrow band conections?

Hiya guys

I have a digital short band afr gauge that reads from 7-20 so although short band still gives me an idea of what afr is, before anyone says theyre waste of time ie the crapy stoich lean gauges which are usless on turbo cars.

Anyhows the question im asking is which wire off the lambda sensor goes to the guage ther is a choice of 3, 2 white ones and a black im assuming its the black but want to confirm before i start cutting into wires.

Thanks.

i've just fitted my afr gauge and its the black(pulse wire) on the lamba...
but dont connect it straight to it,use the wires behind the plug...
so if you ever change the lamba you wont need to do the wiring again...
and you will find the black wire on the lamba is blue on your loom/...
cheers chris

hmm I took a stab in the dark at black fitted it and the readings arnt good!

I had it on my astra let a few months back and the readings came through realy quick on my drive i just went for they rarely changed and stayed above 15 the whole time and went as high as 18.

Faulty lambda ?

i have one fitted, they are crap,if you are worried get it on a rolling road to see what its really doing, mines flicks about all over the place, reads lean when on tickover and goes to optimal when normal driving, then off if you floor it haha, they are just decoration in my opinion,i wish i hadnt bothered with mine, just makes you nervous to look at lol .ignorance is bliss

I have a narrow band fitted and it's workin fine. On tick over it flicks from lean to rich and back again which is correct, on cruise off boost it is still un-steady but mainly stioch, on boost it reads rich which again is correct (open and closed loop). The only time it has been strange is when the lambda was screwed

It's basically a volt reader, 0.1 (very lean) to 0.9 (very rich)

And yes the black wire is the signal, i take mine from the ECU

Mine is a good gauge it actualy displays a digital read out ie 15.1, it will go as low as 10 and as hi as 20 which in reality you wont be going higher then 15 and shouldnt go lower then 10 if all is running right.

Im going to buy a new lambda sensor and if readins still hi go for new maf ;_)

just thought i would add to this,i said above that the gauges were crap, i changed my lambda for a universal bosch one from just lambda, my gauge now reads great so if anybody gets dodgy readings, the first port of call is a new lambda.thanks bryan
