Default New STI - Some silly questions!

Hi i am looking at swopping my standard sport saloon for an STI wagon. The buyer wants to downgrade and i want to upgrade. I have had an STI before and wish to have another.

But:

For business purposes i do not want my newly proposed car too look to boy racerish (no offence to forum members).

Question one:

Can i use a non turbo bonnet (no scoop) on an STI car?

i would assume the turbo needs a good air supply or it will blow up

Can i get a bonnet with flat air intakes like the evo or get air to suck through the grill like an RS4 for example.

Question two:

Along the same lines can I make it quieter (exhaust) or will that affect the performance?

Question three:

Is there any way to stop the turbo kicking in when using the car for daily use and effectively turning it on when used for sport use as i intend to get a wagon for practical purposes but also use it for fun?

I assume not?

Thank you

Don't take this the wrong way but it sound like a Impreza maybe the wrong car for you.

Quick edit-Maybe a Spec D might suit you

sounds like you need to swap your Sti for my Wrx! :-) The standard exhaust is as quiet as you will prob get, the scoop you would need and the turbo kicking in is the nature of the car, why most people want one! :-) A WRX is more subtle and the performance not as in your face, maybe you would have been better with one of those?

Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec. D : THE TAMING OF THE SU - Yahoo! Cars
not at all

I definitely want an STI wagon not a saloon for practical purposes. I am currently in negotiation to swop my saloon for an STI wagon as he wants to downgrade and i want upgrade.

He has some bonnet damage and wants to swop the bonnet with mine (no scoop) as its the same colour, hence the question.

the turbo question was just out of interest. i can always drive in fith gear lol.

Not a big fan of the car in the link. do not like the newer styling and not looking for a saloon.

I have had subarus for a few years now. STI saloon and standard saloon and would like to stick with that

Do you mean you want a MY08, if so the scoop removal is a no, exhaust is quiet anyway and yes it has drive settings for Normal/Sport.

Dual map is an ECU which allows you to switch between maps, one for high boost, one for low. FMIC cost money, expensive ? depends really.
