Wink MD321T AND Zircotec coating

Ok i now have nearly enough funds for my new MD321T turbo and i can get it che from mocom racing without zircotec coating £1275 +VAT or £1395 + vat from Lateral Performance with coating what do you think.
It will be going on my 2003 uk sti blob with ppp.
Its got ported headers and matched upipe from harvey(didnt like the noise from tubular its a compromise)
Prodrive sports cat downpipe and tail pipe .
standard bore stainless pipes with no cats.
K+N panel filter.
Does anyone have any advice genrally,it will be getting mapped by Bob Rawle the man once ive sold the vf35 to pay for it which has only done 36,000 miles and is spot on.
If anyone has got any advice or forsee any probs i may have please feel free to post .

You don't mention FMIC!

The 321T is capable of upto 450bhp... I wouldn't fancy mapping it over 400 on your existing TMIC IMO. I'd seriously think about adding a Hybrid GT Spec2 FMIC (just released!), supplied by harvey. He can also fit it for a set menu price of £180.

If you ain't got 'em already, I think you'll also need at least 740cc injectors to realise the T's full potential, too.

Staying with my TMIC for now and was only looking for 400bhp(initially) and as much torque as poss ,I was goin for the MD321H but have been advised i might as well get the t.I forgot to mention i am keepin my eyes out for the injectors but could do with a bit more info as to what i am looking for and also what to avoid etc.

I'd be inclined to go for a 321H if you're running a stock 2.0L and standard TMIC. You'll get much better spool from an H than a T and it's squarely aimed at the 400 mark too. Running a T at only 400 seems a waste of money to me, as you're not getting the best out of it

If you want more power later, then maybe try the T with a FMIC.... don't forget an H will still have very good residual value after a year anyway, so upgrading turbos shouldn't have to cost the earth later on. cheers

They cost exactly the same and the spool up difference isnt a massive issue so i think i will stick to the t.

Stick with the top mount, Andy F has proved its good for it. I've the T with TMIC @ 445bhp mapped by Andy and it runs perfect. Andy has loads of experience with the MD321's and told me IHO the T spools just as fast as the H.

You will need atleast 650cc injectors toget the max safe bhp from the turbo.
IMO why buy the H when the T is the same price and spools just as fast, and once you can go forged you just crank up the boost!

RE injectors, you won't go wrong if you get a set of pukka genuine flow-matched 650/740/800cc jobs from Mark Aigin [sic] at Lateral Performance.... but it'll cost!

Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. (When you think about it, that saying don't actually mean anything, worded the way it is, lol).

fuel pressure reg and walbro i think your injectors should be fine for the power level you want check with mark

its already got an upgraded fuel pump as part of the ppp ,could do with more info on a fuel pressure reg.

What size injectors do you have at the mo? 550s?

If so, then a cheaper route to getting adequate fuel supply, as mus says, is to get an uprated FPR such as Fuelab, Forge, SX, Sard, etc. These are adjustable and allow you to up the fuel pressure over std, thus squirting more vol. of fuel through for the same time period. In effect, FPRs persuade your existing injectors to act like larger cc ones...

Fitting a FPR is defo the cheaper option and I'd say around 4bar offuel pressure willl give you great results with the turbo upgrade, but personnaly I wouldnt want to be running too much pressure without upgrading the fuel lines which would in effect probably work out more than getting the injectors in the first place.

Marks modded injectors are cheaper than buying new bigger injectors but I heard if using EcuTek for the remap then you can run into problems trimming them. which is why I went for 650cc's myself.

Hopefully JGM or Mark will be along soon to give there experienced opinions

Most hose is rated at 5 to 8 bar, so 4 bar is with it's comfort zone.

Having said that mine are all braided....
