lowering springs advice

IAM TOYING WITH THE IDEA OF PUTTING A SET OF LOWERING SPRINGS ON MY97 TURBO.THE THING IS THE ONES IVE SEEN WILL LOWER THE CAR 35mm AND THE QUESTIONS, ARE CAN I STILL USE THE STANDARD SHOCKS,IF NOT HOW LOW CAN I DO IT AND STILL USE STANDARD SHOCKS AND WILL THE GEOMETRY NEED RESETTING. YOUR ADVICE WILL WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED. GIBBS

I have Eibachs on my MY 00, AFAIK know they work well with the standard shocks, although better with later MY's.
They drop the car about 30mm I think, I wouldn't go any lower for driving on normal roads.
Get the alignment done when you have the springs fitted - I had mine done at TSL near Nottingham. This will cost about £400 all in.
