Default Can't get one of the downpipe to turbo bolts off ! What should I do ?

Hi folks,

I am in the process of preparing to replace my standard down pipe with a Ninja sports cat downpipe. Yesterday I removed the intercooler, eventually got the heat shield off ( three bl00dy hours ) and have managed to get off four of the five bolts which hold the downpipe to the turbo. But one of them just won't shift !! It's the nut nearest the drivers wing and it's on the thread which goes into the turbo. I've soaked it in penetrating fluid, WD40 and everything else I can think of. It's a 14mm head and as I try to untighten it, you can feel the shoulders on the nut start to give. I am really worried about rounding the head off and then being stuffed.

So guys - any advice ? I've heard you can get sockets which help remove nuts like this - anyone used one ? Also, would it be safe to use heat on the bolt - it's pretty close to the master cyclinder and turbo so don't want to cook anything. What should I do ?

As ever I appreciate any advice you can give me !!

Cheers,

Wilky.

i see my mechanic friend put his neck out trying to get my old vf 22 one of but you do need a proper tool as a cheap one could round the bolt off and your tool just might snap in half

Do you think there would be any point running the car to heat the downpipe up ? Do you think that would cause it to expand and maybe loosen. A long shot I know ?
