Default ECUTEK or PPP 07 STi

Hi guys

I have recently purchased a 2007 STi scooby and being a 2007 still has a good year of subaru warranty. The PPP retains warranty but an ecutek would prob give better gains and have a better map.

What to do what to do???

Ecutek:

Pros - Cheaper, more power, future proofing for further mods
Cons - Loose warranty on engine (can't reallly see you having a problem with a '07 car and you still have warrenty on everything else)

PPP

Pros - 12 months warrenty
Cons - less power (generic map on ECU not custom for 'your' car), more expensive

The question you should be asking is where do I want to be in 2 years time (are you going to continue modding)? If yes the question is Ecutek or Solaris ?

All IMO.

Incorrect, you modify the engine for more power and you lose the warranty on ALL parts as it puts more strain on everything

Depends on dealer I suppose . I've had two cars from two different subaru dealers, both honoured the warrenty on my cars when:

a) I had problems with rear diff (engine had been modifed at time which they knew about).
b) I had problems with air-con (again, despite having modified suspension and engine at time).

I'm sure they wouldn't have honoured the engine warranty with the mods I had but they had no issues putting right problems that had obviously not been caused by my mods.

As I said it depends on your dealer really .
