Power engineering did one similar to this you'll find its a piggy back board providing a modded Map. Is your car modified, usually these board are used for cars with basic mods, such as decat and exhaust, uprated fuel pump, and air filter and possibly a few other minor tweaks. Usually run approx the 300bhp margin.

I do not know what the wires are for mate, you may want to ask one of the mappers what its for.

I think you'll find the mappers will not touch these as they use machine code which isn't mapper friendly (takes to long to programme) hence why majority of these chips and boards are a bulk manufacture therefore pre-programmed.

You could ask the question though, i only got to ask one mapper and my car got written off, so never carried out any further enquiries.

Could be a 2 stage switchable board, The 2 chips would have 2 different maps and the wires would allow you to switch between the 2

You have 3 choices:

a] Fit it, and take the car to a knowledgeable rolling road and have it checked.

b] Fit it, do nothing else, hence risking the engine. (unknown map)

c] Remove the board, rejoin the J1 and run the 'safe' OE map.

RE the wires.

Didn't Superchips do something similar to that? I think in their application the wires went to a fuel cut defender...
