fitting bigger injectors would be the cause surley!

I would of thought its now over fueling like mad... hence the backfiring and cutting out. Cant really be run with bigger injectors without a re-map so wait till the mapper arrives.

Oh, I assumed seeing as you said you fitted 440's that they were bigger than the ones that were in there. What year car are we talking?

Yea ok on a 1999 they are 440's... (or if the engine code is GC8F or GC8G) I guess you could have damaged the MAF arnt they very easy to damage on the 1999's... slightest knock kills them?

Whens it going to be mapped?

The maf was playing up before and over fueling. i have a new one that i will try but could that be it or does it sound like something else could be wrong.
I was going to get it done in the next few weeks , would it need to be running or would the mapper be able to sort it.

ive been told that bigger injectors need a map but you should beable to drive the car off boost til you can get it maped fo a short period of time so dont think that would cause the problem.

so the car dident start atall b4???

fuel pump working properly? double check everything you have done before car started playing up it may just be something silly like not plugged a fuse back in or gone?

double check for an air leak mate. had exactly the same symptoms when i upgraded intercooler. found a hose not seated right. doesnt matter about injectors or turbo, the car should still start and idle

Would the maf cause such harsh idle and back firing though?
