Default New guy needs help !!!!!

Hi, new guy here. Just been to see 99 turbo that I'm looking to buy but wanted to check a few things first as I'm new to subaru's. When warm the car idels a little poorly and can be a little jerky when putting the gas on hard. It has a uprated turbo, ECU and induction kit so not sure if it's a big problem or something simple.
Also when warm it crunches when selecting reverse gear. All other gears select ok but there is a little more play in the lever than i would expect??
Finaly i noticed when reved close to the red line the engine warning light flashes up below the rev gauge. It goes away as soon as you shift up, just wasn't sure it it's supose to do this to tell you to change gear or does it mean there is an problem.

Any help would be very welcome as I really like the car but just want to be sure about these points. Cheers.

He tells me it's not long had a new clutch. I wondered if maybe it just needed a gearbox oil change???? Maybe not by the sound of what your saying????
Any ideas on the poor idle?

I get the feeling this may be to much of a risk to take from what your saying. Thanks for the advise.

The engine light could mean that the ECU is a Apexi Power FC or Simtek or similar, where it can be set to show a det warning threshold, which may or may not be accurately set.

Thing is, with that different turbo on, I'd want a second opinion that the AFRs are okay (seeing as that CEL light flashes at near max revs). Also, if it is a 'big' turbo, it could be producing over 350bhp and if the engine internals haven't been replaced with forged jobs, then the motor (and gearbox) are on borrowed time.

There's too much that could be wrong/unknown with this particualr example IMHO... My advice would be to move on to the next....
