my 03wrx blob is up for oil change and i have just purchased a load of subaru oil filters from dealer (not cheap!) for future changes but what oil do people use in there engines please ?
i have just spoke to swindon subaru as thats where it came from with a full history from them , and they use - shell helix plus 10w40 semi synth in all wrx and sti even ones with 200k on the clock !!!
now do i carry on using the same as car has now covered 69k or do i use a better oil ? i keep reading good reports on the silkolene pro s 5w40 from oil man but is there anyothers to go for ? i used motul 6100 in my old 94wrx and i loved it and also used it in my skyline with no probs at all .
i also have a 20% discount card for halfrauds who do castrol etc etc but not every oil .
what do you guys think or recommend ???

Id stick to a 10 40 semi or fully synthetic(I use a halfords track oil but it gets used and changed every 2 or 3 k miles), as long as its a good name then you should be fine, always remember to prefill ur new filter with new engine oil when refitting the new filter,
If you do a search you will find many threads on oils and what to use so be warned lol
