how to lift engine out?
whats the best way to strap and lift engine as i cant see any lifting eyes
can you use a strap round the intake manifold or will it not take the weight?
dose the refitting of it line up with the gear box/engine mounts easily as am probably going to be on my own..99% sure i have most things like clutch pivot pin, exhaust, loom etc learnt about but there's always something....

I've always lifted all my engines from the inlet manifold and hasn't caused any issues and imagine most poeple do the same. When replacing the engine sit the nearside engine mount in position and not bolted to the engine until the gearbox and engine is connected. This allows for more clearance and makes job a lot easier especially if you have a 6 speed gearbox fitted in a classic, as the angle of pitch from the gearbox is limited due to the extra diameter. The offside engine mount requires fitting to the engine beforehand though as it's very difficult to fit once the engine & gearbox are together. Also ensure your clutch is fully working prior to connecting the rest of the engine.
