imprezza 96 cuts out when boosts over 1 bar??
my car cuts out when it boosts over 1 bar is this the fuel cut off valve or do i need a fuel regulator ,
i was under the understanding that the standard fuel reg is set to one bar i.e. when the turbo boosts 1 psi it shuts off 1 psi on the regulator is this correct??
and if so do i need a fuel reg so i can set it to 2 bar.
if this is all correct and i am on the right path then were is the standard fuel reg ?? HELP!!

It's nothing to do with the fuel reg, that just maintains fuel rail pressure, your ecu is protecting your engine from damage, it is detecting your manifold pressure via the M.A.P. sensor, when it gets to high you will get fuel cut. 0.9 bar is about right for a standard car, if you try and increase your boost, you will have to add extra monitoring to the car to monitor DET. Cheapest way is with a manual boost controller but i would not advise this route, as you remove the safety control away from the ECU.

the turbo , front mounted intercooler , 500bhp injectors uprated fuel pump , upgraded suspension, etc etc but no remap or upgraded ecu which i thought was wired but the guy i bought the car off had two so i think he probably removed the eco tek ecu

Your point being? Your hopeless at adjusting an mbc, or that the car was working exactly as designed or both?
@ Dooda, your making a pigs ear, bigger injectors and no remap is a recipe for high fuel consumption and ultimately bore wash and failed engine, at the moment the car is trying to work as it should, protecting the engine form the higher bost than it set up to safely run, get the job done properly, your probably making less power than a properly setup but otherwise near stock 96 car!
