Strange set up???
I am cleaning the boost solenoid out tonight, just had a look at a guide on here & it seem's one pipe isn't connected, the one coming out of the bottom of the boost solenoid, pipe number 3 in the picture, Also I have a pipercross induction kit so is this pipe meant to go to the original airbox & should I stick a bolt in it to blank it off? The other problem I have is the original dump valve is still connnected/not blanked off, can I remove it but I need to blank it with something which ever option I choose? It has a seperate dump valve fitted, bailey or similar?
Thank's in advance.
Excuse my stupidness, I am new to all this car buisness!!!

hi mate the bottom pipe on the solenoid marked (C) usually connects to the resonator box but if thats no longer there & theres nothing for it to attach to it can vent to air providing its got a small brass restrictor pill in the hose which stops overboosting, these can be had from subaru for a couple of quid im unsure on the size though, if your running a after market dump valve the orginal dump valve take off should be blanked off

That's great, will subaru know what I am talking about when I go to get the restrictor pill do you think? Can I go to a motor factor's etc for this, how do you blank the pipe off on the where the original dump valve used to be, doe's anyone know of a specific bung or way to do this?
Cheer's.

your restrictor pill is probably still in that bottom pipe if its not overboosting... the pipe has the pill in it and then connects to the resonator or vent to atmos if no resonator is fitted. I doubt you need a new one if its not overboosting.
If you have an aftermarket DV and the OE one is still fitted but the vacuum line is not connected to it, it will act as a blanking plug... not ideal looks wise though, lol.

I think I will try to find a bung for it!!! Lol!!! It's not overboosting, it's underboosting, around 0.4/0.5 bar at full throttle, I have had a feel of the pipe but can't feel the restrictor pill.

is the check engine light on?... like I said if the pill wern't there it would be over boosting as I found out after replacing the hose for red stuff. If that pipe were blocked it might under-boost i guess.

No, checked for error code's & also did a ecu reset, just took it for a blast, at full throttle it goe's to about's 0.7 bar then quickly settle's down to around 0.5 bar, still a bit under but not sure if it need's the restrictor pill, the pipe is quite solid so it might bein there but I can't feel it.

what model is it?... you can kinda tell if its got the restrictor pill if you take it off and blow through it, compare it by blowing through a hose with same diameter and see which is easier.

It's a 1995 wrx wagon import. Will try to find a pipe tomorrow of the same diameter & see if I can tell the difference. The bottom pipe from the bcs is bent slightly though so won't that give you a bit of a false reading as if it is a bit blocked?

tbf mate Im sure on a wagon the boost isnt very high anyway... 0.7-0.8 bar, the pipe being bent might give some restriction but not sure what boost your expecting though?

Not too sure tbh, been told different thing's because it is an import it could be 240/260 bhp & between 0.8/1.2 bar, it doesn't feel hugely quick though so with it settling at 0.5 bar thought it should be higher than that.

I could be wrong but I thought the early wagons ran less boost, thought they ran the TD04 turbo... someone should correct me on that... and thought they only had 220bhp again I havent looked into that for a while so could be completly wrong.
