Default Exhaust: Ninja2 or something else?

'96 WRX wagon completely standard. Car is very quiet and has no burble whatsoever...so its time to for an upgrade! lol

Was thinking about a 6x4" backbox but also tempted by the Ninja2 or RaceBox.

From your experience which of those do you prefer, and are there any other decent options for round about the same price range?
Are there any changes in performance with just a backbox or does it require a full decat for noticeable improvements?

Ninja backbox be about the best option with the money your looking to spend. Also scooby world have an offer on ninja boxes till 1st july. If go for the catback system then might find slight bhp increase, but to be fair if its a power increase your after then look at a full system from the downpipe onwards with deacts or highflow cat replacements. Also depends on how big the silencers are on your excisting exhaust. If removed one with a replacement pipe you will hear a deeper burble, an wont effect engine management or emissions. Hope this is some help to you.

Yeah I spent Ł500 at Scoobyworld last week and saw the deal on Ninja2 + catback system:

Impreza Turbo 1993-2000 Classic : Subaru Impreza Cat-Back / Catback Exhaust System Ninja, RaceBox and Afterburner

Says on there that you get a 22bhp increase. Is that true or exaggerated?

I was thinking of doing this then replacing the other pipes when I have more cash. Is that advisable or best waiting to do it all in one?

Another system that caught my eye is this little beauty from Scoobysport:

ScoobySport - Performance Exhaust Systems for the Subaru Impreza

How would that compare to Ninja2?
Any comments on the Racebox?

Vote for the Ninja from me.Sounds great and looks a quality piece of kit.
Not sure about the power increase as mine was on the car when i got it but you should notice a difference.
That looks a good offer as well at the moment
