Hi all,

I've got a 2003 Impreza WRX and for some reason, I woke up on Sunday morning to find my malfunction indicator lamp (MIL Lamp) has come on and is staying on all the time. I checked in the manual what it means but it does not give much information. The last things I had done to the car was get new tyres fitted on Friday, fill the car up with Texaco Super Unleaded (98 Ron) and then drove to Northampton. Then on Saturday, a couple of small trips around Northampton and then on Sunday, start the car and noticed the MIL light on and has stayed on all the way back home to Surrey.

Anyone got any ideas or information on what this malfunction indicator lamp means?

It could mean so many things, best to get it on a diagnostic machine. You can them yourself starting for 20 quid. A garage will want 35 to put it on theirs.

Garage just phoned about why my Engine Management light was on. The error was because the Catalistic Convertor fell below the threshold. So they tested everything but found everything was working ok. They suspected that it was just a glitch and have reset and so far all is ok.
