On your STi there's an M8 threaded hole on the block, beneath the intercooler on the passenger side(nearside) With slim hands, you can bolt the sensor on without removing the intercooler. The wire to the KL can then go through the bulkhead on the passenger side.

I don't suppose anyone has any pics please?
Dynamix, this spare lug.......will it have been the one JGM will have screwed his det cans in to? As that was on top of the inlet manifold.

I see, cheers guys!
Dunx, did you say JGM said to set it at 50, but you have yours set to around 35? Is there much else to set up on them? Just I don't have any instructions.
Cheers

fit it and see what levels you get.. if it dets it will be a jump in value.. you should see the numbers slowly increase towards the redline..

Bob, they are just standard pistons in an STI 8.
Simon, I just thought I'd read on hear the Dunx said about 50, but that's probably me being wrong .
Thanks for the tip on setting it up. I see when you mean. It should be a linear rise, but if there is det, it will jump from say 35 up to 80 for example.
Can this setup be done stationary, or should someone drive while I set it up?
Thanks again

Hi Chris,
Simon "suggested" that a value around 50 would be equivalent to a level of "knock" he could hear through the det cans....
So I aimed low for safety, it's only triggered once, when I hit the rev limiter by mistake !
LOL

P.S. With alerts on a bar graph will scroll across the lower section of the display.
