Smile help with boost guage

please forgive my ignorance but i am new to all this turbo buisiness and to scoobynet but willing to learn lol , i have a l reg wrx estate with a sti red top version 2 conversion ( aparrently) and have just baught a boost/vac gauge and engine bay boost control valve ! now as far as i am aware the control valve goes on the pipe comeing out of actuator ?? not a problem will sort this after ( i am reasonably handy with cars ) but have been told to fit boost guage to the pipe running into my forge d/v ? is this right as its reading 6.5 on vac side ! where do i fit pipe to for boost ??? cheers in advance . be kind to a newb lol

yes T the vaccum hose from the boost gauge to the dump valve hose

is the gauge reading in bar or psi?

hi m8 cheers for reply its in bar but left hand side is vac and right is boost and its sat on left when i start engine ??? does it flip to boost when dump valve kicks in ??? as have kids at home till they go nursary and havent got chance to take her out yet lol

it will sit on left hand side on idle and when driving it should move to right on boost when turbo kicks in

cheers for that m8 !!! yes been out and checked it seems to be running fine ! tops out around .6 bar last question lol whats the safest preasure to run at when i fit boost control ?? thanks again

i think for your car about 15 psi to be safe which should be about 1 bar

good man ! will try to adjust slowley lol if i can help myself or maybe just top it to 1 bar .
should i tell my missus to hold on then ?? lmao

make sure you dont go above 1 bar, fuel will cut if you get to giddy think it's 1.21 was on mine.

yea about 0.9 - 1 bar is safe dont be going over and if you start doing engine mods like intercooler, air intakes and exhaust systems be sure to get it remapped
