I had intermitent problems with code 22 for ages. In the end I replaced it with what I thought was a genuine sensor from ebay but turned out not to be. I had to use the cable from the existing sensor for it to work - the cable that came with had a very slightly different connector. Having said that it now works fine with new sensor and old cable

It was something like SUBARU KNOCK SENSOR 22060-AA070 on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 27-Jun-09 11:01:54 BST)

The sensor should measure about 500k ohms, and my old one was waaay over that. New one was about 580k.

Do an ECU reset. I had this code, went and bought the sensor, but done a reset on the way. Never came on again. Been well over a year.
