I have just had thre 6 speed conversion done and all i can day is
Its by far one of the best upgrades i have done so far.
I got a UK 6 speed box/linkage/auto prop shaft/6 speed starter all for £1700 from a local breaker and then got a set of Group N mounts and an sti quickshift for good measure. I was also able to use my existing rear diff/shafts as the box i got was out of a UK spec car
Just got the car back last night and its fantastic, 1st - 4th are so close and 5th/6th just keep pulling ....its a little heavier (30kgs) than the 5 speed but to be honest you wont notice it at all, i actually feel that the car is now more planted on the road and feels much better
My advice would be to go for it if your funds allow, its a fit and forget job as the 6 speed boxes tend to be very strong and can hold a lot of power through them
If you are getting it professionally done, budget £1700+ for the box and all the bits, and a days labour should see it fitted, maybe better thinking about upgrading your clutch/flywheel as well when its all out
