Exclamation speedo recalibation?

can the early classic scoobs be recalibrated.
mine is miles out, when using 215/40/17 tyres, at 70mph (gps speed)
the car is doing around 81mph (clock speed)

i dont mind 3mph or so out. but over 10mph is silly
any where that does it?

Could you have gone for the wrong profile? I did not see (vodka glasses) if it was under or over. If it is reading under then the rolling circumference is to small soi you need a larger aspect ratio ie; 45's or 50's. If it is reading over then the rolling circumference is too large so you need t go to a smaller aspect ratiop ie 35's or even 30's. I have seen convertors online somewhere, so try a google search as that might help if you put in the standardt yre details then the new wheel size. If you or a previousowner has changed the wheels.

i need either 45/50 on the tyres. but due to the fact i have sti wheels. only the 40's will fit under my arches

its reading over, well over.
if it was the 3mph then i wouldn't mind. but over 10mph out
the converters are good for imports, to convert from kph to mph

there must be some way to ajust the speedo?

Nothing wrong with the tyre size, its only 1.25% out compared to std size.

I bet its more to do with something like a gearbox swap, thus the speedo is not matched to the gearbox speedo drive. All IMHO

yep, its an early uk 2000 car, and i put p1 full running gear on there.
with 45's its ok. but the 40's!!!!

so i need to get the speedo sorted out
the standard wheels on a p1 is 17'' + 45's
and thats slightly out. but any smaller and.
you get what i've got. miles out

205/45/17 is the std size for a P1

using a 215/40/17 at 60 it would overread by 1.2mph

A mate has a P1 and regardless of the 2 variations of sizes you mention , he has never reported any such issues with the speedo. I reckon its a compatablity issue.

I have similar speedo issues and also have a box designed for an electronic pick up and dash, rather than the std speedo cable. I'm not overly bothered as i know its 20mph/1000rpm in 5th so easy to work out, plus its exact to my GPS!

You manual speedo sender should drop straight in, I had the same thing on a box swap, just took the electronic one out and used my old manual.

Yeah I know it fits straight in what im saying is, there may be some variation in the gearing/electronics of later speedos hence the calibration issues.

my car is electronic type.
the uk95 was.

i wish mine was only out by 1/3mhp. but at 60, its 9/10mph out
i was tempted in trying one of them adapters.

as i know the p1 boxes are also fitted to some of the sti's
(i checked the box code)

but where do you fit these?
