Default 94 WRX troubles

Hi folks,

New to the forum so bare with me please.

I have recently bought a 94 WRX, my first scooby, but I am having some bother with it now and again.

The problem is, now and again it seems to stutter and then come ok when normal driving. When I put my foot down sometimes it will do nothing then jump into life and take off. Then the next time I use it it will be fine and a dream to drive.

It's going in for a service soon but not till the end of the month and I am worried that driving it all the time will do more than good??

Does anybody have any ideas on what the problem could be?

Default 94 wrx problems

Ive recently bought a 94 wrx also and am having very similar issues. Mine hesitates and jerks under accelaration and sometimes in the morning and every now and then at normal driving conditions. I checked all my plugs and coils today. All my plugs were gapped way too big (1.1mm) and 3 of my coil packs were fine, but the 4th was a coil pack out of a subaru SVX 6cyl thing. A different coil to the other 3 but same shape. I only realised as I noted the part numbers on all coils. 3 were the same, and the 4th was different. I googled it and found thats what its out of and doesnt seem like its compatible with the wrx..... Am going to replace it next week. I'll keep you posted. Maybe the fuel filter is all choked up also.
