the simple answer is no. if you install it without a remap & drive it hard you will kill your engine.

On the other hand you could install it & drive very carefully off boost, but then what is the point in that?

Wait till you can afford the remap.

TBH i think your better off leaving it in the garage until your ready to map. I know what you mean about being eager, but the fact is you will get more boost and performance out of your current setup than you will out of a non-mapped VF23.

Best things come to those people who wait.

Good Luck

i was running a rb5 (my99 uk eng) with a -
fmic
vf23
full decat
piper induction
EcuTEK remap
produced - 326bhp 315lb ft with a slipping clutch

now got a v4 sti bottom end and ported headers and am looking to tweak ecu...

basically i did fit my vf23 and fmic with my decat without a remap... drove fine for couple months... i didnt touch the boost and pulled very well anyway, but i didnt drive hard till remap..

keep it in garage till mapped mate

alright mate so with mine u think i keep all my parts off mainly vf23 till i get remap. i mean if i fit it obviously wont boost till remap but was your engine reliable still an how long u have the vf on until u had remap

think i was running for about 8 weeks but i never drove hard and it was fine...

boost pressure will increase or atleast mine did and i never increased it...

if your planning on getting the map soonish then why not fit it...??

map should only cost in the region of £500-650, depending where your based, i used Pat herborn or try Jolly green monster..
