Turbo questions

hi paul
i have a VF23 with a front mounted intercooler on a UK car. it will hold 1.4-1.5 bar all day long but 1.6 maybe a bit too much for it. the VF23 is a bit bigger than the VF28 so they will be able to achieve more with it anyway.
ideally your friend should get a VF22. or he can get a hybrid internals for the vf23 it allow it to flow more air. try contacting BRD, turbo dynamics, turbo shop.etc... for his requirments.
surely given time, pat will come with his usuall very small non technical answer

Sam,
Thanks for the prompt info...
Prompt is what we need as the car is spread across the garage floor and its first event is next weekend!!
The VF23 might have to do for now.
Thanks

Hello All,
Question regarding Turbos, a friend is having problems getting enough boost out of a version V Sti (Rally car) using a VF 28 with a 34mm restrictor. They are getting about 1.3 bar and require about 1.5 - 1.6 bar. They have also got a VF23 they could use.
They are running a front mounted intercooler is this likely to cause any problems?
Is the VF23 likely to produce more boost than the VF28?
What are the limits of the VF28, VF23 and the VF22?
Thanks for any help.
