Steering rack ends are getting sloppy! Advice please people.

Steering rack ends are getting sloppy! Advice please people.
The rack ends are a bit worn and are starting to make noises when i turn the wheel back and fore at standstill.
Can the rackends be changed or do i need the whole rack? Will obviously be changing the track rod ends at the same time.

yes you can change the rack ends, i did this myself, its an easy enough job.
infact it always makes me wonder why people have a older model car, thats done say 50k+ and then slap on various amounts of coilover/uprated/dooberies to enhance the handling and dont sort the basics first
do the steering rack ends, track rod ends, steering rack bushes and ball joints at the same time. they made a VAST difference to mine

replaced these on my 96 import , sure they cost me 60 quid ( or more ) each from subaru stealers ?? , there is also an adjustable bit on the rack itself, a yoke, real bitch to get at but maybe worth checking while your under there .
