Default Help classic wheel size?

Sorry I know this is in the wrong area but I need a quick answer! Will 05 wrx wagon alloys with 215/45/17's fit on my MY99 Classic?

Wheel/tyre size is fine (have this combo on my 1993 WRX saloon).

But don't know if the '05 WRX alloys' PCD is 100mm (all Classics) or 114.3mm (any New Age WRX's?)

I did ask him and he assures me the PCD is 100. Will the 45 and 17" combination throw out my speedo as I was thinking it would be ok?

profile is also dictated by the width of the tyre.

Cheers.

Couldn't remember if from 2005 that STi - AND WRX - were 114.3mm.

What's the OEM tyre size for a MY99 Classic? I'm certain from MY97, it's 205/50 R16(?).

If so, then the respective rolling circumferences will be:-

205/50 R16 = R.C. 1922mm

215/45 R17 = R.C. 1965mm

So that's some 43mm (1.7") more.

The speedo will over-read a bit, and you'll be going slightly slower than what the speedo reads too - good as far as Gatso's, Rozzers, et al are concerned.

But you'll have worse acceleration lol (don't worry - you won't notice ).

215/45/17 is not correct for a classic, you need either 205/45/17 or 215/40/17, 215/45/17 will put the speedo out and make you over read.

Hmmm the plot thickens! I need to make sure as it's an expensive mistake. Do the later cars come with 215 45 17's as standard?

205/45 R17 come closest to your MY99's 205/50 R16 OEM-fit tyre size (pi is taken as being 22/7 for the circumference calcs below):-

16" OEM size
205/50 R16 = R.C. 1922mm

17" equivalent

205/45 R17 = R.C. 1937mm

So the new wheels/tyres will only travel a further 15mm (+ 0.6") for every wheel revolution - hardly noticeable. These would be the best size to keep your speedo as close to accurate as possible.
