Ive just fitted a hks ssqv to my95 wrx but the volume of it isnt as i expected in comparison to my baileys, its the newer model ssqv, i picked it up second hand with the wrong flange fitting but managed to get hold of the right one for my car & also a hks vacum filter which i've fitted inline is this needed?, i know theres not much to fitting these but has anyone got any pictures of one fitted to a v1 classic with the correct fitting kit?

i have just recently fitted the same to my legacy gttt,and the main difference with the sound is that you can either have gold or purple diaphrams gold being the louder of the two,hope this helps in some way.alan

 

cheers thanks yeah ive seen the gold inserts think i will order one, i was just wanting a picture of one fitted to see which way they've fitted it on the flange really, ive got mine with the opening facing forwards but when i close the bonnet it seems to come close to the sound deading material so maybe that

 

I have the silver fin fitted which is the same as the gold one, the silver one is the one they come with, purple is the low pitch whoosh noise where as the gold/silver one is the high pitch whistle like a bird type noise.

 

yes mines fited with the silver fin & its quite high pitch but listening to the one on the youtube video on scooby world site mine sounds nothing like it mine is like a very short not very loud wistle, im running about 16psi

 

what size vacum pipe are you running with these guys? cause ive kinda sourced my own kit im only using standard 3mm silicone hose?

 

i have the purple diaphram on my 1993 sti and it makes a high pitch whistle and when u take up the boost in 3rd and above and release the excelarator slowly it sounds great. im running bout 0.9 bar but it is the older ssqv. Hope this helps mates mate
