White smoke now and again on tick over...
Coming from the exhaust, any ideas what this might be. My 03 wrx has done 60k miles and has full subaru service history

is it only happening on cold starts ups?if so its mormal as said above,if not it could be burning a bit of oil somewhere down the line, either way might be worth getting it checked out by your local scooby specialist.

Have you got a stainless steel exhaust, as mine smokes significantly more from cold start-up until it's really hot (i.e. 3-4 miles driving) due to condensation since fitting the stainless steel exhaust.
Is the car using any fluids at all? Might be worth checking the water level and sticking a mark on the bottle at the current level and see if it's changing over time.

from cold any car will produce some white smoke and if its a really cold damp day you will still see a little smoke but as long as its not big clouds of the stuff you will be fine blue smoke is for turbo, oil seals.

Quite common mate. Check to see if you have any fluid loss anyway but as above. Mine does it on cold damp mornings for a while and it does seem to do it more with a s/s system.

I had a renault 5 gt turbo years ago that smoked white smoke, was a oil leak on the exhaust side of turbo, i was using mobile 1 oil and it burned white not blue. I was told at the time it was due to it being fully synthetic oil.

Oil being burnt internally by the engine (e.g. failed oil rings) does appear blue/blue-grey and 'thin'.
