ECU/boost controller
Im currently in the process of buying an 05 -55 plate V8 sti.
My current list to do is:
RCM exhaust 3" bore Decatted system from uppipe to back box.
RCM big MAF filter
Bosch fuel pump
Remap
also futher plans are to add within a few months:
650cc injectors
MD321T turbo
FMIC.
Im a bit confused with the Remap/ECU. I obviously have to have it mapped to suit so do i need/will be better of with an aftermarket ECU? if so which should i go for?
Also is it worth getting a boost controller?
Thanks

Your OEM ECU is really pretty good and is up to the job if properly mapped
If you want anything fancy like Anti-lag, launch control and in gear boost control then you will need to change.

For what you'll be running, the OE ECU should be fine. You might want to fit a 3-port boost solenoid to allow more precise boost control (this is a Subaru part and if you do a search in here, sure you'll find the part number). You will be limited to 1.7bar on the stock ECU, but you wouldn't be running the MD321T above 1.4 / 1.5 bar on the stock engine internals anyway. The 05 STi ECU has per gear boost compensation anyway. Good choice of mods, so should be nice to drive once it's all done.
