Default remap blues

had my 01 wrx bugeye remaped by engine advantages in witham essex, now my problem is the battery on it so i fitted a new one but now the car does not have the poke it use to have and boost seems to be back to standard. Is it possible that with a 1hr period of no batt power the ecu reverts back to default which i thought not possible if it is flash memory and i cant get hold of paul at engine advantages which worries me cos how do i stand with the remap licence ?

If it is then you can go to someone like www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk and have remaps without repaying license fees. Not that I am sure you need one if it's just the ECU adjusting to a dead/disconnected battery.

Does it not have the two boost setting using the rear demister?

Could it be on the low boost setting?

Once the ecu's been flashed it will not revert to a standard map if cut from power...it's perminent until re-flashed over again by another mapper.

I'd say you've got another issue with boost control, not the ecu.

+1 The map is not lost if the battery dies! The suggestion about a twin map having been installed and the car reverting to that following the dead battery may be worth looking into. I'm not sure what acts as the switch though, it's the rear demister pressed at a certain time, but maybe in conjunction with throttle position??

I'd give Jolly Green Monster a shout.

Yes foot to the floor on the throttle and then press the demister button.

Whilst driving, so better in a higher gear .
