Default What FMIC and induction kit?

Hey guys,

My MOT is coming up so I've decided to fix all the little problems and do a few modifications at the same time! I've had an air leak on the intercooler pipe for a while now so thought id use this as an excuse to fit a FMIC and induction kit ready for a remap later in the year.

I've had a look around and had a search on here and i like the look of the APS kit but it seems to have a big price tag! I've seen a lot of people recommend the Harvey Smith Hybrid Intercooler so I'm assuming this is a quality piece of kit. I was wondering what induction kit you lot would recommend to fit with it? My car is a MY96 WRX STi '555' (a Version 2), a lot of the kits don't seem to fit this MY.

Wayne its like you said there are some very expensive kits out there and also some very cheap ones. There are lots of happy guys out there with Harveys ones and he also does a very good price for fitting as well. I have an autobann one on my version 2 555 as its what i could afford at the time. The later kits can be made to fit the early cars its a case of cutting one of the pipes and using a bit samco hose to join it.

Japspeed do an FMIC kit for £299 delivered.

I have their 1 piece exhaust manifold/headers and am more than happy with it so might give their FMIC a try.

Not had any problems with my HKS Induction kit

The Apexi is one of the best. Until my first WRX tomoorow, I have a GT4 running approx 300bhp with an Apexi and they're the best filter for the 3SGTE engine by far (plenty of tests done).

Will always stick with these for Jap cars if I can.
