Alas I have no towbar....
Is this my only option or does anyone else know of other makes and models?

You could use roof bars and roof mounted bikes, otherwise I think a towbar is your only option (witter being good quality, but far from the only option!), most 'hang on' rear racks only work with near upright rear ends as hatches and estates.
