Default Cheap Stroker Kit ???

Thinking of refreshing my bottom end due to nearly coming up to 90K

I have a 99 classic which is fairly standard engine wise apart from a VF35 and Ecutek running 310ish

Just had my 3rd gear explode on me and have now stuck in a UK 6 Speed

Speaking to a few people they have recommened a 2.5 conversion (due to the 6 speed box), but been put off due to them not being as revvy (yep can of worms i know)

So i may just stick with my block and fit some forged internals and stroke it

So ive been pricing up some parts for crank, rods, pistons and bearings and they all been around the £1600 mark

Was suprised when i saw this
Subaru Impreza EJ20 T New 2.1 Litre Stroker kit on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 14-May-09 23:05:10 BST)

What do you guys think......good brand names not like there cheap chinese parts

My finger is hovering over the buy it now button

So the above would save me £855 from Enginetuners price but the advantage with getting one from Enginetuner would be its built and carrys a warranty

Mmm but the £855 saving would go towards a MD321

So is anyone running Mahle forged pistons and Eagle Rods ??

Have a chat to Mark at Lateral Performance regarding parts, or check out his new website Lateral Performance Ltd | Home

Eagle rods don't have a great rep on Scoobynet, although I couldn't tell you why.

Not everything from China is crap, eagle rods are forged in China and machined in the USA. I have used them and they are very good quality, currently running in my rally car at 2.0 bar with full antilag and several class wins.

Phone them, speak to Kath 01179672344, tell her Andy Williams refered you and she may knock a few quid off? Mahle pistons are also good, used them in several engines myself.

Hi if you look at this link from the same seller the kit comes with manly rods
instead of eagle and you get the seal kit which you will need for the engine build.

Subaru Competition 2.1 Litre Stroker kit + Seal Kit on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 06-May-09 13:18:53 BST)

I have also herd that that the mahle pistons run quieter than wiesco pistons
which might be better for the road.
