after market filter has brought engine light on
hi all, i have a 1997 impreza 2.0 sport, there was an aftermarket filter on when i bought it, car ran with no probs, i wanted to change the filter so got a new one with some chrome pipe and bends ect. connected it all up and now it wont tick over and engine light is on, it will idle with my foot on pedal. hope someone can help. Did you - wrongly - 'junk' the MAF?!!! If so, get it back on. It fits between your new metal air inatke pipe and the throttle body, on the non-turbo cars.
If MAF is still on, then is the electrical connector to it fitted correctly?
When happy that everything upstream of the TB is fine, then do an ECU reset (I assume the non-turbo ones can be reset too?
)
