Is your car revving to about 7000rpm?

on normal wrx heads yes but thinking about getting engine higher revving so just wondering what this would involve?

if its a early 96 (4 plug ecu) you could get a chip with a raised rev limit, from say a wrx ra

You will end up spitting a a shim or dropping a valve , if you raise the rev limit on the standard heads as they have over bucket shims and basic valve springs.

What you need is STi valvetrain to get the 8k rpm rev limit, this includes the underbucket shims and stronger valve springs to reduce the risk of valve bounce at high rpm.
